RBC TRACK & FIELD TEAMS TO BEGIN SEASON AT JDL ALL COMERS

PETERSBURG, Va. – A select group of Richard Bland track and field Statesmen will see their first action of the season at JDL All Comers on Saturday, Nov. 22nd at the JDL Fast Track located in Winston-Salem, N.C.

The meet will feature open competition and men's and women's multi events during the day. The JDL All Comer will get underway at 10 a.m. ET with 5,000m Run and high jumps both men and women.

The meet will serve as an opening salvo for RBC, giving coaches and athletes a benchmark to measure against when the Statesmen return to action on Dec. 6 at Christopher Newport Holiday Open.

The Statesmen return one student-athlete who earned All-American status last season to its 2013-14 indoor squad in Joshua Washington (Woodbridge, VA).

Washington had an outstanding season last year, becoming Richard Bland College's first ever All-American in both the 100 and 200 meters event.

On the women's side, Cassandra Nnaji (Falls Church, VA) returns after making her mark for the Statesmen during last season when she recorded a lifetime personal best in the discus with a distance of 290.05 meters.

Additionally, the Statesmen have added seven new student-athletes to women's side while the men have added eight new student-athletes to their roster
