TRACK AND FIELD OPENS OUTDOOR SEASON AT VCU RAM INVITE

PETERSBURG, Va. - The Richard Bland College of William and Mary Track and Field team will open its outdoor season on Saturday, March 21, in the Virginia Commonwealth University Ram Invite at the Sports Backers Stadium in Richmond, Va.

 

The meet will begin at 10 a.m. and details regarding live coverage will be released as they become available.

 

Sophomore Joshua Washington, a native of Woodbridge, Va., led the way with his remarkable performances during the indoor season and continued to make a name for himself in the track and field competition after he finished fifth place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.38 and 20th overall in the 60-meter dash (6.82) for another All-American status at the National Junior College Athletic Association Indoor Track and Field Championships.

 

Freshman and Thomas Dale High School product, Tia Holmes also competed in the NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Albuquerque, N.M. She finished the first day 25th in the country in the women's 60-meter dash.

 

With the outdoor season beginning, the Statesmen will have multiple faces making their debut competing this weekend and hopes of having great performances.
