TRACK AND FIELD TO COMPETE IN AGGIE INVITATIONAL

PETERSBURG, Va. – The Richard Bland College track and field program will compete in the Aggie Invitational hosted by North Carolina A&T University at the Irwin Belk Track. 

 

The meet is set to begin on Saturday at 9 a.m. with the men's javelin throw with the women's following immediately after. The running events is slated for 11 a.m.

Richard Bland go into the weekend with great expectation with the men's team five top-10 performances in the last meet held at Liberty University.  Joshua Washington (Woodbridge, VA) led atop in the men's 100-meter dash and second in the 200 meter dash. Teammates Oliver Smith (Glen Allen, VA) finished 10th in the 100-meter, Terrelle Robinson (Ashland, VA) 10th in the 400-meter, Andrae McGowan (Hampton, VA) seventh in the 800-meter run, and Marcus Finnie (Fredericksburg, VA) fifth in the long jump.

 

On the women's side, Richard Bland had three finish in the top-10 slots in Tia Holmes (Chesterfield, VA) in the women's 100-meter dash. Holmes jumped a lifetime best of 17'2" to place ninth in the long jump. Dallas Tennessee (Richmond, VA) jumped a lifetime best of 17'9'' to place sixth in the long jump while Evan Wagner (Gloucester, VA) placed seventh in the high jump with a season best of 5'1".
