Richard Bland Drops Road Match At Pitt (N.C.) 3-0

WINTERVILLE, N.C. -- Richard Bland College dropped a women's volleyball contest on the road at Region X member Pitt (N.C.) Community College, 3-0, Monday night in Winterville, North Carolina.  Freshman Emma Eggleton/Chesterfield led the visiting Statesmen (0-5) with eight kills, six digs and 4.5 blocks, while sophomore Alexis Lyons/Prince George added 11 assists and two blocks against the host Bulldogs (5-4), who took the sets by scores of 25-17, 25-7 and 25-20.  Richard Bland will return home to welcome Regent University on Thursday, September 21, at 6 p.m. in Statesman Hall.

Following this week's home contest against Regent, Richard Bland will travel to Hickory, North Carolina this weekend to participate in a tournament hosted by Region X member Catawba Valley Community College.  The Statesmen will open against the host Red Hawks on Friday, Sept. 22, at 12 p.m., immediately followed by a match against Louisburg (N.C.) College at 1:30 p.m.  Richard Bland will play two matches on Saturday, Sept. 23, as well, including against Wake Technical (N.C.) Community College at 9 a.m. and Guilford Technical (N.C.) Community College at 1:30 p.m.
