Volleyball Defeats Regent, Faces Tough NCAA Teams This Weekend

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA -- The Richard Bland College of William & Mary women's volleyball team improved to 3-1 on the season with a four-set win over Regent University at Statesman Hall, 25-15, 25-15, 23-25, 25-20.

The Statesmen will now carry much-needed momentum heading into Friday and Saturday's tournament at Virginia State where RBC will compete against four tough NCAA Divison II teams. On Friday at VSU, Richard Bland will face Alderson Broaddus University at 2 pm and Saint Augustine's University at 4 pm. On Saturday, RBC meets the University of Mount Olive at Noon, and host Virginia State at 2 pm.

Against Regent, a team RBC has now defeated three straight times, the Statesmen were led by Clara Smith with 10 kills, Heather Phelps with 10 kills and Lauryn Basl running the offense with 31 assists.
