WOMEN COMPETE WELL AT GEORGE MASON INVITATIONAL

Fairfax, VA, October 5, 2013- The Statesmen women squad competed well and put up a great fight at the GMU Invitational. Justina Gilliam finished with a time of 31:47 to claim the 29th place, while Darshea'l Cook logged a time of 32:37 to hold on to the 31st place finish, and Jacqueline Gilliam paced in a time of 33:56 locking down the 34th place finish. "This was a very difficult course for the women to run, however, I am proud that the held on and persevered through it all", said Coach Matt High.

Both teams will compete next at the NJCAA Regional meet at McAlpine Park, in Charlotte, NC. The top place finishers will move on to compete at the NJCAA NAtional meet in Fort Dodge, IA.
