The Statesmen Highlight Reel : Andy Ramirez

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – Richard Bland College men’s basketball standout Andy Ramirez earns this week’s Statesman Spotlight after delivering a pair of dominant performances to open the 2025-26 season.

Ramirez was a force on both ends of the floor, averaging 24.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 6 steals over two games. He powered the Statesmen to a thrilling 94-87 season-opening win over Sandhills Community College with a monster 30-point, 12-rebound outing, shooting 7-of-16 from the field and a stellar 16-of-20 from the free throw line.

The sophomore continued his strong play on the road at Harford Community College, recording 19 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 steals in a hard-fought 52-54 loss. His relentless effort, defensive intensity, and consistency around the rim have made him one of the early standouts for the Statesmen.

Ramirez’s leadership and impact have set the tone for Richard Bland’s early-season identity, establishing him as a cornerstone for the Statesmen on both ends of the court.
