Beach Volleyball Splits in Lynchburg
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College beach volleyball team moves to 15-6 overall, 12-0 in conference play after traveling to the University of Lynchburg for a tri match Tuesday afternoon against the Hornets and Catawba College.
In match one, the Statesmen pairs fell to NCAA Division III University Lynchburg, 2-3.
Pairing 1: Sarah Heath and Karagyn Durco lost to the Hornets 23-25, 21-16, and 9-15.
Pairing 2: Rylie Harris and Leilani Goggin lost to the Hornets 18-21, 21-16, and 8-15.
Pairing 3: Sophia Kaiser and Jadyn Brown defeated the Hornets 21-16 and 21-5.
Pairing 4: Sydney Phillips and Morgan Green defeated the Hornets 21-14 and 21-16.
Pairing 5: Georgia Alexander and Marisa Dunnavent lost to the Hornets 12-21 and 13-21.
In match two, the Statesmen pairs defeated NCAA Division III Catawba College, 3-2.
Pairing 1: Sarah Heath and Karagyn Durco lost to the Indians 19-21, 21-15, and 12-15.
Pairing 2: Rylie Harris and Leilani Goggin defeated the Indians 21-6 and 21-15.
Pairing 3: Sophia Kaiser and Jadyn Brown defeated the Indians 9-21, 21-15, and 15-10.
Pairing 4: Sydney Phillips and Morgan Green defeated the Indians 21-9, 12-21, and 15-12.
Pairing 5: Marisa Dunnavent and Georgia Alexander lost to the Indians 12-21 and 13-21.
The Richard Bland College beach volleyball team next travels to Sandhills Community College for the Region 10 Tournament on Friday, April 7th. As the #1 seed, the Statesmen will earn a first round bye. More information will be announced soon.
