Beach Volleyball Drops 2 on First Day of National Tournament

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College beach volleyball team moves to 17-8 overall after day one of the NJCAA Inaugural Beach Volleyball National Tournament. In match one, the Statesmen faced State College of Florida. In match two the Statesmen faced South Mountain Community College.

 

In match one, the Statesmen pairs fell to the Manatees from State College of Florida, 2-3.

Pairing 1: Sarah Heath and Karagyn Durco fell to the Manatees 24-22, 7-21, and 13-15.

Pairing 2: Rylie Harris and Leilani Goggin defeated the Manatees 21-11 and 21-16.

Pairing 3: Sophia Kaiser and Jadyn Brown defeated the Manatees 21-18 and 21-18.

Pairing 4: Sydney Phillips and Morgan Green fell to the Manatees 15-21 and 23-25.

Pairing 5: Georgia Alexander and Marisa Dunnavent fell to the Manatees 17-21 and 16-21.

 

In match two, the Statesmen pairs fell to the Cougars from South Mountain CC, 2-3.

Pairing 1: Sarah Heath and Karagyn Durco defeated the Cougars 21-15 and 21-19.

Pairing 2: Rylie Harris and Leilani Goggin defeated the Cougars 21-18 and 26-24.

Pairing 3: Sophia Kaiser and Jadyn Brown fell to the Cougars 13-21 and 21-19.

Pairing 4: Sydney Phillips and Morgan Green fell to the Cougars 13-21, 25-23, and 12-15.

Pairing 5: Jordan May and Georgia Alexander fell to the Cougars 18-21 and 17-21.

 

The Richard Bland College beach volleyball team next prepares for day two of the inaugural NJCAA National Tournament at Hickory Point Beach in Tavares, Florida. The Statesmen are set to play Bryant & Stratton College (WI) at 11:30am tomorrow, April 21st in the challenge round.
