Beach Volleyball Splits Day One of Pool Play at National Tournament
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College beach volleyball moves to 21-12 overall after day one of pool play at the NJCAA National Tournament in Huntsville, Alabama Wednesday afternoon.
In dual one of the day, the Statesmen defeated the Bobcats of Bryant & Stratton College (WI), 5-0.
Pair 1: Sarah Heath and Jordan Schlageter defeated the Bobcats 21-16 and 21-7.
Pair 2: Leilani Goggin and Alexis Scipione defeated the Bobcats 21-10 and 21-11.
Pair 3: Morgan Green and Kiley Pickett defeated the Bobcats 21-4 and 21-6.
Pair 4: Aubrey Hyndshaw and Addison White defeated the Bobcats 21-5 and 21-13.
Pair 5: Phoebe Heath and Peyton Ostenson defeated the Bobcats 21-3 and 21-3.
In dual two of the day, the Statesmen dropped a tight battle to the Manatees of the State College of Florida, 2-3.
Pair 1: Sarah Heath and Jordan Schlageter fell to the Manatees 13-21 and 13-21.
Pair 2: Leilani Goggin and Alexis Scipione defeated the Manatees 10-21, 21-19, and 15-10.
Pair 3: Morgan Green and Kiley Pickett fell to the Manatees 21-19, 15-21, and 15-17.
Pair 4: Addison White and Aubrey Hyndshaw fell to the Manatees 16-21, 22-20, and 13-15.
Pair 5: Phoebe Heath and Peyton Ostenson defeated the Manatees 21-18 and 21-14.
The Richard Bland College beach volleyball team enters day two of pool play tomorrow, May 3rd taking on Gaston College at 11:30am CT/12:30pm ET and Lake-Sumter State College at 3:15pm CT/4:15pm ET.
