Beach Volleyball Splits with Flyers, Secures #1 Seed for Region Tournament
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College Beach Volleyball team traveled to Region 10 foe, Sandhills Community College in a doubleheader dual Saturday afternoon, for the final duals of the regular season. After conclusion of the day, Richard Bland has moved to 11-9 overall, 4-0 in conference play on the season.
In dual one, the Statesmen defeated the Flyers 3-2.
Pair 1: Phoebe Heath & Lovina Teal defeated the Flyers 21-14 and 21-13.
Pair 2: Peyton Ostenson & Taelin Connolley defeated the Flyers 21-16 and 21-10.
Pair 3: Alexis Scipione & Rachelle Martin defeated the Flyers 21-19 and 22-20.
Pair 4: Braelyn Boyd & Rachel Pickens fell to the Flyers 21-16, 18-21, and 7-15.
Pair 5: Richard Bland forfeit.
In dual two, the Statesmen fell to the Flyers 2-3.
Pair 1: Phoebe Heath & Lovina Teal fell to the Flyers 18-21, 21-10, and 12-15.
Pair 2: Peyton Ostenson & Taelin Connolley defeated the Flyers 21-12 and 21-17.
Pair 3: Alexis Scipione & Rachelle Martin defeated the Flyers 21-19 and 21-19.
Pair 4: Braelyn Boyd & Rachel Pickens fell to the Flyers 7-21 and 13-21.
Pair 5: Richard Bland forfeit.
The Richard Bland College beach volleyball team next travels to the Region 10 Tournament in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Richard Bland has secured the #1 seed and will automatically compete in the Region 10 Championship on Friday, April 18th. Their opponent will be the winner of Wake Technical Community College and Sandhills Community College.
