STATESMEN PROVIDE BASKETBALL CLINIC FOR RICHMOND YOUTH PROGRAM

RICHMOND, VA, January 9, 2014- The Richard Bland Statesmen put on a basketball clinic for the youth program at Peter Paul Development Center in Richmond's Churchill area. Juel Gadd, a program volunteer, led the program's pilar activity which emphasized the children to focus on what it means to be good citizens, while the Statesmen team members assisted in various youth groups.

The Statesmen proceeded to conduct a clinic for the children that introduced ball handling, shooting, defense, and passing skills to the group. Tavon Mealy who grew up nearby the area was a featured guest speaker for the group. The Statesmen were able to present each child with a Richard Bland t-shirt and two tickets to a future home basketball game. The Statesmen were presented with cards from the youth group expressing thier appreciation for the skills clinic and sharing their time.
