#19 RICHARD BLAND TOPS FISHBURNE MILITARY SCHOOL IN THRILLER

Norfolk, VA, January 11, 2014-Richard Bland fought an epic battle against one of the top post graduate programs in the country. The Statesmen outlasted the Cadets by the score of 69-65 enroute to their 12 victory and first of 2014.

The Statesmen were led by Tavon Mealy who led all scorers with 19 points and eight rebounds, followed by Melvin Gregory who registered a double-double performance with 16 points and 16 boards, Micah Thomas added 13 points while Lequan Thomas also scored 10 points for the Statesmen. The Cadets were led in scoring by Henrico High School graduate Jordan Talley with 12 points.

The Statesmen are in action tommorow afternoon, Sunday, January 12, 2014 for a 3:00 pm tip-off against Northern Virginia Community College from Annandale, VA
