RICHARD BLAND CLAIMS TOP SPOT IN NJCAA DII NATIONAL RANKINGS

PETERSBURG, VA, January 28, 2014- Richard Bland College continues to make history in their return to NJCAA. The Statesmen were named the top team in the country after going a perfect 3-0 with wins over #2 Louisburg College, Pitt CC, and Lenoir CC this past week.

With two NJCAA National Players of the Week being named (Tavon Mealy, Richmond, VA Armstrong HS & Micah Thomas, Richmond, VA Highland Springs HS), the Statesmen have proven to be worthy of their number one ranking. "Achieving this ranking is an honor and extremely exciting for our players, staff, and especially our college", said Chuck Moore, head coach of Richard Bland College.

The Statesmen are back in action tomorrow afternoon against Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, NC for a 5:00 pm tip-off. GO STATESMEN!
