Statesmen Fall To Spartanburg, 114-74

SPARTANBURG, SC -- The Richard Bland College of William and Mary men's basketball team fell to the Spartanburg Methodist College Pioneers Monday night, 114-74.

With the loss, the Statesmen are now 5-10 on the season. Spartanburg improves to 11-6. The Statesmen are back home Wednesday, January 23 at 7:00 pm hosting Allegany College of Maryland. 

After a long trip to Spartanburg, SC the Statesmen took on a Spartanburg Methodist team full of offensive threats. The Pioneers came out hot and stayed hot through most of the game. Spartanburg shot 56.3% of 32 shots from behind the arc. They were led by sophomore Kris White who went 8-11 from the three-point line. The Pioneers had six players finishing in double digits. The Statesmen struggled to find their own way offensively shooting under 20% from three. Sophomores Sterling Carrington (14 points) and Wayne Clevert (10 points) were the only Richard Bland players to finish in double digits.
