Statesmen Suffer Loss to Sea Devils in Conference Opener

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College of William and Mary Men's Basketball team moves to 4-4 overall after they traveled to Cape Fear Community College Wednesday evening, for the conference opener.

The Statesmen battled through back and forth play during the entirety of the first half, remaining on top 39-38, at halftime. Richard Bland was outscored 41-26 in the second half, which led to the 79-65 conference loss to Cape Fear.

Nathaniel Lacey led with 17 points, Kevon West had 14 points, and Lance Monterio had 13 points for the Statesmen. Kelby Saunders Jr. scored his first double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Richard Bland men's basketball hosts Denmark Technical College Saturday, December 11^th at 2pm in a conference matchup.
