SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College of William and Mary Men's Basketball team moves to 4-5 overall after they hosted Denmark Technical College Saturday, December 11th.
With slow offensive starts for both teams, Denmark Tech was the first to score, 2 minutes into the game. Richard Bland trailed 25-15 at the half and went on to outscore the Panthers 36-30 in the second half but fell just short at the buzzer.
Tysen Brown led the scoring for the Statesmen with 12 points and 3 rebounds. Lance Monterio had 7 points and 6 rebounds. Marquis Whitten was credited with 4 rebounds while Daquan Johnson, Isaiah Richardson and Kaleb Coleman had 3 rebounds each.
Richard Bland men's basketball next travels to Brunswick Community College Friday December 17th for the opening game of the 3-day Brunswick Community College Classic. The Statesmen open the tournament against East Georgia State at 3pm.
