SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College of William and Mary Men's Basketball team moves to 1-5 in conference play, 6-12 overall after they hosted Gaston College Wednesday evening.

 

Richard Bland started off hot on a quick layup by Lance Monteiro to take the lead, however, Gaston pushed back to hold a 32-23 lead at the half. Although the Statesmen outscored the Rhinos 24-20 in the second half, the Rhinos held on for the win through regulation.

 

Nathaniel Lacey was the leading scorer for the Statesmen with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Lance Monteiro had 11 points and 4 rebounds. Eric wood led the boards with 10 rebounds.

 

Richard Bland men's basketball next hosts Brunswick Community College this evening, Friday January 28th at 5pm for a conference matchup.
