Men’s Basketball Lands All Region Selection

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College of William and Mary Men's Basketball team completed their season 11-17 overall, after the Region 10 Quarterfinal loss Tuesday evening, while landing 1 spot on the Region 10 Second Team.

Sophomore wing, Lance Monteiro from Richmond, VA earned Second Team All-Region honors after leading the Statesmen in many statistical categories this season. Monteiro was a key component in many games this year while averaging 13.3 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game. Monteiro scored double-digit points in 17 of 25 games played. He garnered 2 double-doubles against Monroe College with 15 points and 10 rebounds, as well as against Bryant & Stratton (VA) with 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Overall, Lance Monteiro finished the season with 333 total points, 129 rebounds, 54 assists, 35 steals, and 9 blocks. In conference, Monteiro had 149 points, 59 rebounds, 34 assists, 13 steals and 3 blocks.
