Men’s Basketball Opens Season With Win Over Roadrunners

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College of William and Mary Men's Basketball team moves to 1-0 overall after traveling to Mountain Gateway Community College Tuesday evening for a non conference contest with the Roadrunners.
Larry Howell opened up the game with a layup to put the Statesmen ahead early on. The Statesmen took a 45-28 lead into half, and would come out victorious, 89-62 at the final buzzer.
Howell led with a double-double, 13 points and 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals, followed by Kevon West with 11 points. Ben Jones had 10 points and seven rebounds in the win.
The Richard Bland College men's basketball team next hosts Monroe College on Friday, November 4th at 8pm for game three of the 2nd Annual Statesmen Classic.
