Men’s Basketball Picks up Win at Home

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA - The Richard Bland College men's basketball team moves to 10-12 overall, 2-4 in conference play after hosting Washington Adventist University JV squad Thursday evening in a make-up game.

 

Richard Bland took an early 39-30 lead at the break. The Statesmen outscored the Shock by three in the second half, to defeat Washington Adventist University JV 70-58 at home.

 

Martin Kawa led the way for Richard Bland with 15 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals. Larry Howell followed closely with 11 points, eight rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks. Ben Jones added nine points off the bench, and Ibrahim Kourouma eight for the Statesmen. Kevon West tallied six points and Kelby Saunders Jr added five in the win.

 

Richard Bland went 63.2% from the charity stripe, 40.6% from the field, and 31.6% at the perimeter.

 

The Richard Bland College men's basketball team next travels to Denmark Technical College on Saturday, February 4th. The conference contest will tip-off at 2pm.
