Kawa, Howell Post Double-Doubles in Win Over Skipjacks

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College Men's Basketball team moves to 1-3 overall after traveling to Chesapeake College for a nonconference contest Wednesday evening.

Although Richard Bland trailed by four, 35-39, at the half, the Statesmen would prevail and come out on top, 80-63. Martin Kawa led the way for Richard Bland with his first double-double of the season, tallying 22 points and 10 rebounds. Kawa also added four assists in the win. Larry Howell also scored his first double-double of the season, recording 21 points and 11 rebounds. Howell was also credited with two assists and one block. Tim Robinson tallied nine points and six rebounds for the Statesmen, while Mekhi Phipps-Dedrick and Jalen Smith added eight points each. Phipps-Dedrick also pitched in with six rebounds, five steals, and four assists. Smith added four boards and one steal for Richard Bland.

Richard Bland shots 58.3% from the perimeter, 75.0% from the charity stripe, and 50.9% from the field.

The Richard Bland College men's basketball team next travels to Harford Community College on Wednesday, November 15^th for a 6pm nonconference contest with the Fighting Owls.
