Four Statesmen Score Double Digits in Men’s Basketball Victory

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College Men's Basketball team moves to 3-5 overall after traveling to Virginia State University for a contest with the JV squad, Tuesday evening.

 

Leading by a large margin, 42-22, at the break, Richard Bland went on to score 37 points in the second half, to secure the 79-67 nonconference victory over the Trojans. Four Statesmen tallied double-digit figures in the win. Martin Kawa led the way for Richard Bland with 16 points, four rebounds, one assist, and one steal. Larry Howell and Tim Robinson tallied 14 points each. Howell also added nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while Robinson had seven rebounds and one steal. Off the bench, Ibrahim Kourouma chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds. Imani Anderson was credited with seven points and Brandon Hendryx six for the Statesmen.

 

Richard Bland shot 86.7% from the charity stripe, 43.1% from the field, and 28.6% from the perimeter.

 

The Richard Bland College men's basketball team next travels to CCBC Dundalk on Wednesday, November 29th for a nonconference contest with the Lions. Tip-off is set for 7pm.
