WEILER TABBED AS NEW HEAD MEN'S SOCCER COACH AT RICHARD BLAND COLLEGE

Petersburg, VA, August 26, 2013– Matt Weiler is a graduate of University of Virginia and transfer from University of Kentucky, where he played men's soccer for both programs before graduating in 2010. He was also a Walk-On for the University of Virginia Football Team. During his High School career he was a 3-time Washington Post All-Met player as well as Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year in 2004 and also Rivals All-American in 2006. VHSL All-State Football -Free Safety.

After graduating he has focused his career on the Conditioning, Speed, Agility & Quickness components of the game and currently holds certification in NASE Speed & Explosion, USA Weightlifting along with NSCA CSCS Strength and Conditioning. 

"I am excited to lead the Richard Bland Statesmen soccer program", said Weiler. The Statesmen opens their season at Tidewater Community College on Staurday, August 31 at the Sportsplex in Virginia Beach, VA.

Prior to RBC, Coach Weiler was an Assistant Strength & Conditioning coach for RVA Football Club. Coach Weiler facilitated a program to compliment the daily training and recovery needed for the players over the course of the 2013 NPSL Season helping them to their first NPSL National Championship.

In addition to his coaching duties at RBC, Weiler will also serve as the head strength and conditioning coach for all athletic programs.
