Statesmen Blank Patrick Henry, 2-0

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA--The Richard Bland College of William & Mary men's soccer team defeated Patrick Henry Community College 2-0 this afternoon at the Patrick Henry Community College Soccer Field.
 
With this result, the Statesmen improved to 10-2-1 and will next host Louisburg for a 4pm kickoff at home on Wednesday, October 10.

After a 0-0 stalemate in the first half, the Statesmen scored the first goal in the 53 minute with a goal by freshman Henrique Castelhano. Against the run of play, Henrique received the through pass from sophomore Umar Mujahid on the right side of the Patrick Henry 18 yard box before he calmly slotted the ball to the far post passed the Patrick Henry goalie. It took the Statesmen until the 82 minute to secure the victory when freshman Brian Guerrero was fouled in the Patrick Henry 18 yard box. He stepped up and took the penalty where he riffled his shot passed the Patrick Henry goalie for a 2-0 lead. This was the final score.
