Men's Soccer Earns 5-2  Victory Over Wake Tech

RALEIGH, NC----The Richard Bland College of William & Mary men's soccer team defeated Wake Tech 5-2 this afternoon at Wake Tech Soccer Field.
 
With this result, the Statesmen improved to 12-2-2 and will next play against USC Sumter at home on Thursday, October 18 for a 4pm kickoff.

After conceding an early goal to Wake Tech in the first half, the Statesmen got an equalizer from freshman Caleb Lilley with a clinical shot off the right side from freshman Brian Guerrero.  The first half finished 1-1.

The Statesmen scored four goals in the second half starting with freshman Leon Boltz scoring an unassisted goal after stealing the ball from the Wake Tech goalie before calmly shooting the ball into the goal. Sophomore Umar Mujahid made it a 3-1 game after he scored off a rebounded shot from his initial shot for the goal. Freshman Hector Rivera made it a 4-1 game when Mujahid skillfully dribbled past the Wake Tech defender before finding an open Rivera who had an open goal to shoot his shot. Sophomore Romeo Kayizali then made it a 5-1 game when he received a through pass in middle of the Wake Tech defense before shooting his shot passed the Wake Tech goalie. Wake Tech pulled one back in the dying stages of the game to make it 5-2 which is how the game ended.
