ALLENDALE, SC -- The Richard Bland College of William & Mary men's soccer team lost to Spartanburg Methodist, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon in the semifinals of the Region X Soccer Championships in action held at USC Salkhehatchie.
With the tough defeat, the Statesmen conclude the season 14-3-2, second most wins in school history.
After conceding an early goal in the first half, the Statesmen got an equalizer from sophomore Romeo Kayizali early on in the second half. However, Spartanburg scored another goal to take a 2-1 lead.
The Statesmen pressured Spartanburg furiously in the last 13 minutes of the second half but were unable to tie the game.
