Bazan Leads Team to Win in Double Overtime

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA -- For their final away game of the regular season, the Richard Bland College of William & Mary men's soccer team won 2-1 at Frederick Community College in double overtime on Saturday.

The Statesmen move to 13-2 on the season and will host Washington Adventists University at Willcox Field on Thursday, October 24 at 4 p.m. for their final home game of the season.

Within the first five minutes, Gonzalo Bazan scored the first goal for the Statesmen with an assist from Matthew Ridley. For the rest of regulation, the game was tied. With teams playing tight defense, the lead became stagnant. However, Bazan came back in double overtime to score the winning goal with an assist from Ervin Zuniga

This is a big win for RBC after falling to a NJCAA top 20 ranked team, Louisburg College. The Statesmen will look to finish the season strong on their home field on Thursday.
