Men’s Soccer Posts Shutout Win Over Panthers

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College men's soccer team moves to 7-1-1 overall, 6-1-1 in conference play after traveling to Denmark Technical College Saturday afternoon.

 

In their second meeting of the season, Richard Bland dominated the Panthers scoring seven times and not allowing a ball in the back of their net, for a 7-0 conference win. Daniel Nunfio got the Statesmen on the board in the first minute of the game to hold a 1-0 lead over the Panthers. Richard Bland tallied again when Bruno Oliveira Barros teamed up with Nicholas Ihnat for an Ihnat goal. In the 44th minute Otto Eisenhardt found Edgar Reboredo Martins to put the Statesmen up 3-0. In the final minute of the first half, Amer Abdalleh found Lorenzo Camacho to hold a 4-0 lead heading into the half. Camacho got things moving right off the bat for the Statesmen in the second half tallying one minute in off a ball from Ruben Santos, pushing the lead to 5-0. In the 78th minute, Sole Addai-Mensah put one past the Panther keeper, followed by the final goal of the day by Milton A Hernandez Sierra, assisted by Pablo Cejudo.

 

Mason Dycus earned the start between the pipes for the Statesmen, for the first 30 minutes of play. Adrian Rios and Thomas Seymour came in off the bench for 30 minutes each. Richard Bland was credited with 25 shots, 13 on goal, and 13 corner kicks on the day. With today's 7-0 conference win, Richard Bland remains at #1 in the Region 10 rankings.

 

The Richard Bland men's soccer team next travels to Louisburg College on Tuesday, September 26th for a non-conference matchup. Kickoff is set for 3pm.
