SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College men's soccer team traveled to Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland Tuesday afternoon for a non-conference match with the Raptors. The Raptors came out victorious, 0-4, moving the Statesmen to 4-4-3 overall and 4-2-3 in conference play.
Play remained balanced through 35 minutes of action this afternoon, however, in the 36th minute, the Raptors took the lead after placing their shot over the top of the Statesmen keeper's hand. Richard Bland continued to battle, not allowing another goal until 22 minutes later as the Raptors received a pass at the penalty kick mark from the right side of the 18 yard box, for a two-touch shot, finding the back of the net and taking the 0-2 lead. The Raptors didn't look back and would score two more times to hold on for the 0-4 victory.
Patrick Dane made 11 saves in net in the loss. Juan Santana, Sebastian Rodriguez, Jayden Midar, and Victor Manuel each had one shot on goal.
The Richard Bland College men's soccer team next travels to Denmark Technical College on Friday, October 4th for their second meeting of the season. Kickoff is set for 2pm.
