STATESMEN TRACK ADDS ANOTHER NATIONAL QUALIFIER

NEWPORT NEWS, VA, February 8, 2014-Richard Bland College's James Drummond and Jacob Butler placed 13th and 15th respectively with times of 7.15 and 7.19 in the men's 60 meter run. Nick Okoebor finished 12th out of 52 runners in the 400 meters, with a time of 52.27 and Adrian Jackson finished fourth (out of 24) with a time of 8.47.

On the women's side Shamara Russell finished 11th out of 37 with a time of 8.08 in the finals. Darshea'l Cook finished thrid  out of 40 runners with a national qualifying time of 59.27. Sierra Ford finished with a time of 2:42 finishing 24th out of 34 runners in the 800 meter run. In the field events, Cassandra Nnaji placed 6th out of 29 with a distance of 11.36 in the shot put.

Richard Bland now travels to Chapel Hill, NC., to compete in the Dennis Craddock Invitational on  Saturday, February 21, 2014.
