Region 10 DII Softball Region Awards
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College Softball program finished the regular season with a record of 16-18 overall, 12-15 in conference play. After their loss to Brunswick Community College in the final game of the regular season, the softball team was named the #6 seed heading into the Region 10 Tournament.
On Thursday, May 2nd, the Region 10 Division II All-Region teams were announced. Shelby Godfrey is the lone Statesman who has earned 2nd Team All-Region 10 honors.
Sophomore infielder, Shelby Godfrey, started all 34 games for the Statesmen and averaged .420 at the plate, with a .556 slugging percentage. Godfrey accumulated 26 runs herself, 34 hits to include eight doubles and one home run, and touched 45 total bases. She also accumulated 21 walks and 14 stolen bases, with a .539 on base percentage.
In the field, Godfrey had 70 total catches, 38 putouts, 25 assists, and turned five double plays for a .900 fielding percentage.
