Curry Joins Women's Basketball Coaching Staff
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – Head women's basketball coach, Jolee Carswell is pleased to announce the addition of Ty Curry to the women's basketball coaching staff for the 2024-25 school year. Curry will focus on player development, game strategy, scouting, and assist in recruiting.
Curry earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development and Family Studies, with a minor in Psychology from Metropolitan State University of Denver. He earned his Master's of Science degree in Sports Leadership from Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts.
Curry began his coaching career as a Summer Basketball Camp Coach with the Air Force Academy in the summer of 2018, through 2019. He then went on to Assistant Coach the Colorado Unified 14U AAU team for one season. While assistant coaching at the AAU level, Ty was named Assistant Varsity Coach, Head Junior Varsity Coach, and Freshman Boys Basketball Coach at Woodland Park High School for 2 seasons. During his time at Woodland Park High School, he worked alongside the head varsity coach to carry out scouting, game strategies, and player management, counseled athletes on academic, athletic status, and personal goals, and much more. He was also a Paraeducator within the Woodland Park Middle School at this time.
In September of 2021, Curry began as the Varsity Assistant, Head Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Coach, and Head Middle School Boys Basketball Coach at The Colorado Springs School, through April 2023. From there, Curry was named the Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach at Doherty High School through April 2024.
"We are very excited to welcome Coach Curry to the coaching staff as an Assistant Coach. His knowledge of the game and passion for teaching will be invaluable as we work towards our goals," says Head Coach, Jolee Carswell.
Curry will also assistant with the coordination of team travel, equipment management, and other logistical aspects of the women's basketball program.
