SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College women's soccer team traveled to Carolina Christian College Tuesday afternoon for a nonconference contest with the Centurions, a first year, NCCAA Division II program. In the game, the Statesmen came out victorious, moving to 1-0-1 overall, 0-0-1 in conference play.
The Centurions got on the board first in the 15th minute to take an early 0-1 lead. In the 30th minute, Richard Bland tied the game when Sara Sparks found Grace Pope, for a Pope goal. Oakley Lamprecht of Richard Bland put the Statesmen ahead, 2-1 in the 48th minute off a ball from Jenna Autry. The Centurions would add one additional goal in the 85th minute, however an Autry goal in the 55th minute from Shani Priestly, solidified the Statesmen road victory.
Richard Bland had 14 shots on the day, nine shots on goal. The Statesmen also earned five corner kicks on the day. Emily Orn played all 90 minutes between the pipes and was credited with four saves.
The Richard Bland College women's soccer team next travels to CCBC Essex on Saturday, September 7th for a 12pm non-conference contest. Live stats will be provided at the link below:
