Eagles Edge Statesmen in Women’s Soccer Action

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College women's soccer team hosted Region 10 Conference opponent Wake Technical Community College Friday afternoon. In the game, the Statesmen lost, 0-1, moving to 2-3-1 overall, 1-1-1 in conference play.

Richard Bland battled at home through 27 scoreless minutes with Wake Technical Community College. The Eagles offense slipped through the Statesmen back line with 18 minutes remaining in the first half, to take a 0-1 lead. The Statesmen trailed through the remainder of the first half, and were unable to sneak one past the Eagle keeper on the few attempts they had in the second half.

Emily Orn played all 90 minutes in net, and made 15 saves in the game. Jenna Autry led the offense with two shots on goal, and Grace Pope one.

The Richard Bland College women's soccer team next hosts Cape Fear Community College on Wednesday, September 25^th. Kickoff is scheduled for 4pm.
