Statesmen Slip in Region 10 Action

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College women's soccer team traveled to Raleigh, North Carolina Monday afternoon for their second conference meeting with the Eagles of Wake Technical Community College. At the conclusion of the match, the Statesmen moved to 3-6-1 overall, 1-3-1 in conference play.

 

Wake Tech got on the board first in the 15th minute of the game. The Eagles added to their lead 10 minutes later, which proved to be the game-winner for the Eagles. Richard Bland did not back down as Anna Lee kept hope alive and the Statesmen in the game off a header goal, assisted by Shani Priestly. Both teams battled hard through a scoreless second half, but the Eagles came out victorious, 1-2.

 

Emily Orn played all 90 minutes in the frame and was credited with seven saves. Anna Lee led the offense with three shots on goal, and Kimberlee Cobb and Kaleigh Snipes both had one.

 

The Richard Bland College women's soccer team next hosts USC Lancaster on Friday, October 11th at 3pm, following the men's game.
