Women’s Soccer Places Six on All-Region Teams, Tierney Earns Coach of the Year

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College Women's Soccer team finished the regular season in 3rd place with a conference record of 1-4-1, and an overall record of 4-8-1. With an upset win in the Region 10 Semifinal to #2 seed, Wake Tech Community College, Richard Bland moved to 5-8-1 overall and has advanced to the Region 10 Division II Championship match against #1 seed Cape Fear Community College. Thursday evening, the women's soccer All-Region teams were announced.

 

Grace Pope and Emily Orn earned 1st team honors, Shani Priestly, Teagan Jackson, and Jenna Autry earned 2nd team honors, while Hannah Pfleiger earned 3rd team.

 

Freshman forward, Grace Pope has started all 14 games for the Statesmen. She has tallied six goals, two of which were game-winning, and three assists for 15 points. Pope was credited with 28 shots, 22 on goal for a .214 SH% and .786 SOG%.

 

Freshman goalkeeper, Emily Orn has started all 14 games in net for Richard Bland, accumulating 1260:00 minutes of action. She has earned three shutouts and has made 101 saves on the season for a goal against average of 1.86 and a save percentage of .795.

 

Freshman defender, Shani Priestly has started all 14 games for the Statesmen. She has tallied two goals and three assists, earning seven points. Priestly was credited with 10 shots, five on goal for a .200 SH% and .500 SOG%.

 

Sophomore defender, Teagan Jackson has started all 14 games in the green and white. Jackson has earned one assist for one point on the season, along with two shots for Richard Bland.

 

Freshman midfielder, Jenna Autry has started all 14 games for Richard Bland. She has tallied two goals, one which was game-winning, and two assists for six points. Autry has totaled nine shots, will all nine on goal for a 1.000 SG%.

 

Sophomore defender, Hannah Pfleiger has started all 14 games for the Statesmen. She has tallied two shots, while also being a strong force on the back line, winning the ball in the air, and shutting down multiple 1v1 situations.

 

First yead Head Coach, Kayla Tierney was voted Coach of The Year by the Region X Division II coaches. With only 13 players, Tierney led the team to a 4-8-1 regular season overall record, and 1-4-1 in conference play to advance to the Region X Semifinals, and now onto the Region X Championship for the first time in program history.
