NORFOLK, Va. -- Richard Bland College dropped a pair of women's volleyball matches at a tournament hosted by Bryant & Stratton College on Saturday in Norfolk. The Statesmen (0-4) fell to Catawba Valley (N.C.) Community College, 3-0, with set scores of 24-26, 14-25 and 6-25, before falling to Bryant & Stratton, 3-1, including set scores of 18-25, 18-25, 25-23 and 14-25. Richard Bland will play on the road at Region X member Pitt (N.C.) Community College on Monday, September 18, at 6 p.m. in Winterville, North Carolina.
Freshman Emma Eggleton/Chesterfield led Richard Bland against Catawba Valley with nine kills, four digs and 3.5 blocks, while classmate Cassi Jencik/Midlothian contributed six digs and three kills.
Freshman Hollie Hill/Buchanan led the Statesmen against Bryant & Stratton with 10 kills and nine digs, while classmates Caitlin Stout/Dinwiddie (five kills, nine digs, two service aces) and Kendall Clark/Virginia Beach (10 digs, four aces) each contributed, as well.
