Richard Bland Falls To Catawba Valley (N.C.) 3-0, Louisburg (N.C.) 3-0

HICKORY, N.C. -- Richard Bland College dropped a pair of women's volleyball matches at the Region X-travaganza Tournament hosted by Catawba Valley (N.C.) Community College on Friday in Hickory, North Carolina.  The Statesmen (1-7) fell to host Catawba Valley (N.C.), 3-0, with set scores of 10-25, 12-25 and 9-25, before also falling to Louisburg (N.C.) College, 3-0, with set scores of 15-25, 15-25 and 13-25.  Richard Bland will play two more matches at the event on Saturday, September 23, including against Wake Technical (N.C.) Community College at 9 a.m. and Guilford Technical (N.C.) Community College at 1:30 p.m.

Freshman Emma Eggleton/Chesterfield led Richard Bland against Catawba Valley with seven kills and five assists, while sophomore Alexis Lyons/Prince George contributed three kills and eight assists.

Eggleton also led the Statesmen against Louisburg with five kills, six assists and five digs, while freshman Kendall Clark/Virginia Beach added 24 digs.
