Smith's 15 Kills Paces Statesmen Past Pitt

The Richard Bland College of William & Mary women's volleyball team defeated Pitt Community College in three sets (32-30, 25-10, 25-23) on Monday evening at Statesman Hall.

With the victory, the Statesmen improve to 2-1 on the season, and will host Regent University on Thursday, August 30 at 6:30 pm.

The Statesmen were led by Harper Smith with 15 kills, Tabatha Green 9 kills, and 2 aces, and Jada Evan with 16 digs.

Monday's victory marks the first time RBC has defeated Pitt CC after two tries last year in the teams inaugural season. "I am excited for the girls with this win," said head coach Scott Newton. "This match was a good benchmark for us as we get deeper into regional play. We had moments against Pitt when the score was tight and the ladies did not let up. This was a statement win for the RBC program.'
