Statesmen Sweep Gators in Non-Conference Action

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The #5 Richard Bland College women's volleyball team traveled to Virginia Peninsula Community College Tuesday evening for a non-conference match. After completion of the evening, the Richard Bland College women's volleyball team moved to 14-1 overall on the season.
In the match, the Statesmen defeated the Gators 3-0, with set scores of 25-6, 25-11, and 25-13.
Richard Bland's attack was led by Rachel Pickens and Taelin Connolley with eight kills each, Gabrielle Meador and Lovina Teel with six kills each, and Peyton Ostenson and Aliyah Millner three kills each. Connolley also added eight digs and five service aces. Alexis Scipione was credited with 26 assists and six digs on the day, while Phoebe Heath had four digs, three assists, and one service ace, and Jayden Armstrong four service aces, three digs, and one service ace.
The Richard Bland College women's volleyball team has a short break before their next match, which will take place on Tuesday, September 24th at Pitt Community College. Start time for the conference opener is set for 6pm.
