SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Region 10 DII Champion, #6 Richard Bland College women's volleyball team competed against the Region 7 Runner-Up, Chattanooga State Community College Friday afternoon in the Southeast A District Championship for a chance to advance to the National Tournament. After completion of the afternoon, the Richard Bland College women's volleyball team moved to 31-4 overall and were the first team to punch their ticket to the NJCAA DII National Championship Tournament!
In the match, Richard Bland defeated the Tigers on Chattanooga State 3-0, with set scores of 25-21, 25-22, and 25-22. Taelin Connolley dominated the attack with 21 kills in the three-set sweep. She also had nine digs and one service ace. Lovina Teel added 12 kills and two digs, while Rachel Pickens had five kills. And Aliyah Millner and Peyton Ostenson three each. Alexis Scipione tallied 42 assists, four digs, and two service aces. Lindsey Love and Phoebe Heath added 10 digs each in the win.
The Richard Bland College women's volleyball team next prepares for the NJCAA Division II Women's Volleyball National Tournament which takes place November 20th-23rd at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
