Women’s Volleyball Season Comes to a Close, Ties for 9th Place Finish

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The #4 Richard Bland College women's volleyball team competed against #11 Kansas City Kansas Community College this morning in the Consolation Bracket of the NJCAA National Championship Tournament. After completion of the match, the Richard Bland College women's volleyball team's season came to a close, and the Statesmen finished 32-6 overall.
In the match, Richard Bland fell to the Blue Devils of Kansas City Kansas Community College 0-3, with set scores of 22-25, 21-25, and 20-25. Taelin Connolley led the attack for Richard Bland with 15 kills, Lovina Teel had 10, and Gabrielle Meador eight. Teel also added nine digs and tw service aces, Meador seven digs, and Connolley five digs and two service aces. Alexis Scipione tallied 22 assists and nine digs, and Averi Hawtin 10 assists and three digs for the Statesmen. Phoebe Heath added eight digs and four assists in the loss.

The Statesmen will next begin gearing up for Beach Volleyball season. Their first beach match is slated for Friday, February 21st on the Statesman Courts.
