RICHARD BLAND COLLEGE RUNNERS FALL SHORT AT WILLIAM & MARY INVITATIONAL

Williamsburg, VA, September 21, 2013- In their first high level college meet with exposure, the Statesmen teams were nagged by injuries in which several runners were forced to pull out of the race. The Statesmen were lead by sibling tandem of Justina Gilliam who finished with an unofficial time of 24:45 and sister Jacqueline Gilliam followed with an unofficial time of 25:58.

"We just did not compete like we should have and how we prepared coming into this event", said Coach Matthew High. "We have to make a better effort to finish races and show more heart and fight in us", added High. The Statesmen will compete again on Friday, September 27, 2013 at The Virginia State University Invitational meet.
