PREVIOUSLY VS. GUILFORD TECH: Playing at home for only the third time this season on Dec. 12, the Statesmen held off a late first half rally by visiting Guilford Technical Community College and then turned on the offensive firepower in the second half to register a 76-60 Region X Conference victory … Guilford didn't have an answer for sophomore forward Troy Gibson, who finished with 21 points on 10 of 16 shooting from the field.

PREVIOUSLY VS. LENOIR C.C.: In a game played on Nov. 19 in Kingston, N.C., Petersburg native Gevon Arrington had an impressive double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds in a 75-60 victory over the Lancers ... It was the sixth straight road contest for the Statesmen, who turned a slight 16-11 first half deficit into a 30-24 halftime lead en route to the victory.

NO. 13 AND RISING: The internet Website www.coachstat.net recently ranked Moore 13th in its list of the nation's Top 25 JUCO coaches ... Statesmen fans undoubtedly rank Moore No. 1, as in just his second year leading the program, RBC won the 2014-15 NJCAA Division II National Championship.

INTERNATIONAL FLAVOR: On Wednesday evening, Belgrade, Serbia native Nikola Lakic produced career-highs in minutes played (35) and rebounds (12), getting 11 of them off the defensive boards.

SUPER SUB TURNED STARTER: For just the fourth time this season, freshman guard Jordan Griggs was inserted into the starting lineup against Patrick Henry … There was no change in his performance – Griggs tallied 17 points in 27 minutes of action … In his previous three games, Griggs came off the the bench to lead the Statesmen in scoring, tallying 20 points against Pitt C.C., 17 against Louisburg and 20 against Cape Fear … Griggs has nine double figures scoring games this season.

POINT PRODUCTION: Gibson leads the team in scoring  with a 14.4 ppg average … Griggs solidifies the second positon at 12.1 ppg, followed by sophomore Gerard Dean-McBride (11.8 ppg, since starting the second semester) and sophomore Devin Smith (11.8 ppg).

CAPTAIN GIBSON: Gibson, the lone returner from last year's National Championship team, tallied a team-best 20 points against Patrick Henry, the 16th time he's scored in double figures this season … In his consistent sophomore season, Gibson has registered four games with double figures in rebounding and has four double-doubles this season … Gibson currently has scored 375 career points and at his current pace would reach 500 in the 29th game of the season.

ARRINGTON ON THE BOARDS: Former Petersburg High School standout Gevon Arrington grabbed a career-best 11 rebounds against Pitt the previous Wednesday … It eclipsed his previous high of 10 rebounds secured against Lenoir on Nov. 10.

STRONG REBOUNDERS: Against Lenoir Community College on Nov. 18, the Statesmen hauled in 61 rebounds, tying a mark of 61 set against Cape Fear Community College last January 7 … Only one other time in Moore's time as coach has the team had 60 or more rebounds in a game – 60 versus Tidewater Community College on Dec. 13, 2013.

ABOUT GUILFORD TECH: The Titans are in the midst of a four-game losing streak … Sophomore forward Yazid Laury leads the team in scoring (16.5 ppg), followed by sophomore guard (15.9 ppg), and sophomore guard Carmoni Marks (15.5 ppg) … Watson leads the team in rebounding (6.2 ppg).

ABOUT LENOIR: The Lancers face No. 11 nationally-ranked Louisburg on Saturday before travelling to Richard Bland … The team has lost nine of its last 10 games, earning its lone win over Vance-Granville, 102-83, on Jan. 19 … Sophomore guard Davon Edwards leads the team in scoring (18.2 ppg) … Freshman forward Gianpaolo leads the team in rebounding (4.7 rpg) … The team averages 76.8 ppg and allows 74.3 ppg.
