PETERSBURG, Va., (April 22, 2016) – For the impact Richard Bland College Director of Athletics and Head Men's Basketball Coach Chuck Moore has made as a leader of student-athletes both on and off the court, he has been honored with the Community Leadership Award from the Petersburg Chapter of WoodmenLife.

Omaha, Nebraska-based WoodmenLife is the nation's largest non-profit Insurance Company, that has its core values rooted in providing its members with financial security while making a difference in the community. Moore received his award in the Activities Room of the Petersburg Home for Ladies.

Moore was cited for leading Richard Bland College to the 2014-15 NJCAA Division II National Championship, but according to Petersburg Chapter President Lee Moody, his award went far beyond what was accomplished on the court. "Chuck's award stemmed from the national championship season and him being named national Coach of the Year, but WoodmenLife recognized him for his leadership of the Richard Bland student-athletes and the commitment he has to the community," said Moody.

Prior to finding his calling as an intercollegiate administrator and coach, Moore was a Field Representative for WoodmenLife and remains a WoodmenLife member.

"Chuck is making a big impact on the lives of young people and doing great things in the community," said Wayne Anderson, WoodmenLife State Manager. "Even though young people comprise just 14 percent of the population, they represent 100 percent of the future, and Chuck Moore is shaping the future. Making an impact on the community is a cornerstone of our company and Chuck represents our mission each and every day."

Moore was featured on the cover of the Spring 2016 edition of WoodmenLife Magazine. That article can be accessed by clicking this link.
