Bio

Mike Wynn joined the Richard Bland College men's basketball program as a Graduate Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator in August 2016.

Wynn arrives at Richard Bland from Virginia Union University where he served as a student assistant coach during the 2015-16 season. He assisted with all aspects of the program at Union, though he specialized in film breakdown and scouting of opponents.

Wynn started 32 of 42 career games at Virginia Union, posting 116 points, 83 rebounds, 129 assists and 12 three-point field goals. He played one season at Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina, starting 23 of 30 games and adding 84 points, 38 rebounds, 95 assists and 11 three-pointers.

Wynn has additional experiences in basketball while serving as a trainer/mentor at All Ball U Training in Richmond since 2015 and as a skills instructor at the Sonya Chase Summer Basketball Camp in Bowie, Maryland in 2014. He prepared and implemented units and daily lesson plans for those ages 10-17 that enhanced their skills on/off the court, developed fitness-based curriculum focused on strength and cardiovascular training and mentored youth on individual skills and team-building concept. Wynn handled day-to-day operations of the camp, assisting with planning and preparation for player's workouts, and supervising athletes conditioning to ensure safety and proper use.

Wynn has served as a counselor at Dominion Youth Services in Richmond since May. He has specialized in assisting and working daily with young individuals with special needs or cases.

A native of Dolphin, Virginia, Wynn is a 2016 graduate of Virginia Union, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. He completed an internship at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina during summer 2015.
