Bio

Nick Surkamp is in his second year as assistant coach for the Richard Bland College men's soccer program during 2017-18.  The former First Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) standout at North Carolina State University joined Richard Bland in March 2016.  He also serves the College as the Coordinator of Life Skills & Athletics Services.

A 2014 NC State graduate, Surkamp led the Wolfpack and finished tied for third in the ACC with for goals scored during his junior season. Although Surkamp missed almost half of his senior season due to injury, he still claimed the top spot for goals scored during his final campaign. He was named to College Sports Madness's All-ACC team and the College Sports Madness All-American team during his time with the Wolfpack.

Surkamp began his collegiate career playing at Longwood University in 2010 where he was a starter in his rookie campaign while leading the team in assists. In the 2011 season he was named the Atlantic Soccer Conference (ASC) Player of the Year, while also being named being selected as an NSCAA All-North Atlantic Region team member and a VaSID All-State team member while leading Longwood to a 11-6-3 mark and an ASC tournament championship. Surkamp led the Lancers in goals and finished in the top 20 of the NCAA for goals scored.

Surkamp played four years of soccer at Osbourn Park High School in Manassas, Va., where he led the team in assists and second in scoring as a junior and senior. He was named First Team All-District, First Team All-Region and All-State as a senior. Additionally, Surkamp was tabbed a First Team All-Area selection by The Washington Post and The Potomac News and was selected to the Washington Post All-Metro team as a senior.
