Beach Volleyball Earns Split at Catawba College

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College beach volleyball moves to 14-4 overall, 2-0 in conference play after traveling to Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina for a doubleheader dual. The Statesmen took on the hosts in the opening dual, and followed with a dual against Carson-Newman University.

 

In dual one, the Statesmen pairs defeated the River Cats of Catawba College, 3-2.

Pair 1: Sarah Heath and Alexis Scipione fell to the River Cats 13-21 and 19-21.

Pair 2: Leilani Goggin and Aubrey Hyndshaw defeated the River Cats 21-3 and 21-3.

Pair 3: Peyton Ostenson and Jordan Schlageter defeated the River Cats 21-15, 9-21, and 15-13.

Pair 4: Morgan Green and Kiley Pickett fell to the River Cats 17-21 and 15-21.

Pair 5: Phoebe Heath and Addison White defeated the River Cats 21-19 and 21-11.

 

In dual two, the Statesmen pairs fell to the Eagles of Carson-Newman, 1-4.

Pair 1: Sarah Heath and Alexis Scipione fell to the Eagles 7-21 and 13-21.

Pair 2: Leilani Goggin and Aubrey Hyndshaw fell to the Eagles 14-21 and 19-21.

Pair 3: Peyton Ostenson and Jordan Schlageter fell to the Eagles 14-21 and 10-21.

Pair 4: Morgan Green and Kiley Pickett fell to the Eagles 13-21 and 16-21.

Pair 5: Phoebe Heath and Addison White defeated the Eagles 21-17 and 21-17.

 

The Richard Bland College beach volleyball team next travels to Sandhills Community College on Friday, March 22nd and Saturday, March 23rd for the Flyers Invitational. On Friday, the Statesmen will take on Gaston College at 2pm and Sandhills Community College at 4pm. On Saturday, Richard Bland will take on Catawba College at 12pm.
