#7 RICHARD BLAND LEAPS OVER THE LANCERS TO CLAIM 11th CONSECUTIVE VICTORY

KINSTON, NC, January 26, 2014-The Richard Bland Statesmen struggled early against conference foe Lenoir Community College, but consistent play from key reserves helped push the #7 Statesmen over the Lancers 95-78.

The win puts the Statesmen in first place in Region X play with an overall record of 19-1 and 9-1 in the conference. Micah Thomas led the charge with 21 points, Melvin Gregory chipped in with 17 points, Tavon Mealy tossed in 15 points, Evan Bates had 14 points and Drew Walton added 10 points. The Lancers were led by Antwaun Smith with 18 points and Joshua Hill with 14 points the loss dropped the Lancers to 7-6 overall and 4-5 in conference play.

The Statesmen continue to play on the road with their next stop in Raleigh, NC at Wake Technical Community College on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 5:00 pm.
